It’s kind of gloomy in San Francisco today, and when that happens, I always reach for my “healthy” Hot Chocolate recipe. It’s hot and chocolaty, but without strong caffeine from coffee. It is healthier than regular Hot Chocolate because it is made from almond milk, not whole milk. I added coconut oil to make it creamy; coconut oil is so good for your health, and your skin. Green Superfood Chocolate Drink powder makes this drink “Super” with a lot of nutrients.
I am trying to ward off coffee in the morning, and drink this Hot Chocolate instead. I have to tell you I don’t miss coffee as much as I thought I would be.
Pang’s Healthy Hot Chocolate (makes 3 cups)
- 3 cups unsweetened almond milk
- 1 scoop Amazing Grass Green Superfood Chocolate Drink powder
- 1 tablespoon cacao powder
- about 1 tablespoon coconut oil
- about 1 tablespoon light agave nectar
Heat unsweetened almond milk in the microwave in high for 4-5 minutes, keep it covered with plastic wrap. Whisk in the rest of the ingredient until well-combined. Serve immediately.
