“Playing with Food” is my new fun project to do with food (and flower). This idea happens simply because there are so many beautiful food that I am fascinated with, and I want to cherish them somehow aside from cooking it.
As I often found a new ingredient, a new kind of veggie, a new type of fruit etc. at Farmers Market, I always wanted to “play” with them by some means. They were either so strange looking, interestingly beautiful, in unique shape & form, wonderful in some ways or all of the above. This fun project serves just that, the way to play with beautiful food (or food related product) when it’s still in purest form.
It seemed that yesterday was my lucky day at the Farmers Market. I found these wonderful & beautiful veggies, purple asparagus, Japanese turnips, lettuce and oyster mushroom, waiting to be played. Since it is the start of this project, I want to style them with something I am quite familiar with, flowers. The process was so much fun, and I could not have been more pleased with the photographs. I hope you like them, too.
There is no secret that I am the blogger of 2 blogs- the food blog, circahappy and the flower design blog, doingso; I like to photograph food, and I like to arrange flowers. Yet, I have hardly styled them together, until now. This project gives me such freedom to photograph food and flower together. It was fun because I could do no wrong as those ingredients were beautiful to begin with. It was fun because it made me think outside the “bowl” for a change. It was fun (period).
I am planning to do this project periodically. As soon as I find something inspiring to play with, I will do the next post. I hope you check back later.
