I have always loved flower arrangements, but I did not think of arranging it myself until a few years back when I was so frustrated trying to find the arrangement I really liked. I found the same arranging style-flowers & color combination-in most florist shops across the board, and it was killing me. Believe me, I do understand that florist shops need to make a profit; therefore, they don’t have the freedom to arrange as they please. I do understand that and I do not mean to put down anyone’s work at all.
When frustration subsided, my search to see “what out there” began. Eventually, I came across these floral designers-Michael George, Olivier Giugni, Ariella Chezar, and Meredith Waga Perez to name a few, and I immediately fell in love with their works. But if you want me to choose my top 3, one of them, without a doubt, is Michael George.
I have fell in love with his work ever since I stumbled upon Martha Stewart show awhile ago. His style is so contemporary and so artsy, especially his famous monochromatic & minimalist creations. He was such meticulous & so talented floral artist who was such an inspiration to my flower works. Unfortunately, he passed away in January of this year from liver cancer. For me, he was THE CELEBRITY the same as ‘One Direction’ to most girls. I would never stop someone for a photograph, but I would definitely have interrupted him. I was so sad when I heard the news.
Anyway, sadness aside, thankfully, his legacy lives on. I can still see his influence via many other floral artists. As I have mentioned, I was going to transfer my works from doingso.com to this blog. These are my previous works that are definitely influenced by Mr. Michael George.
