I rarely post 2 food posts per week, but in the spirit of red, white and blue upcoming event, I have to do it. I rarely drink either because I have a degree of alcohol tolerance as a two-year-old zipping beer, but I just have to do this cocktail. You can totally omit vodka, but what’s the fun for that, right? Seriously, you can totally omit vodka, and it’s still very good & very refreshing.
I don’t have to tell you that I specifically make this cocktail for the 4th of July party. The dangerous of this one is that you do NOT taste the vodka, so you might keep drinking and thinking that it’s alcohol-free drink until someone tell you that you are being silly 🙂
Happy 4th of July everyone. Be safe & hope to see you back here on Monday for my next post 🙂
watermelon cranberry vodka cocktail
(make 5 cups)
- 14 oz fresh watermelon
- 1 cup unfiltered apple juice
- 1 cup cranberry juice
- 3 fl oz vodka
- 1 cup ginger ale
- ice OR watermelon cranberry vodka ice (see note)
Place watermelon, apple juice, cranberry juice, and vodka in the blender and blend until it becomes frothy. Add ginger ale and watermelon cranberry vodka ice (if prefer). Serve immediately.
Note: If you want to make ice cube out of this cocktail, which you can do, make 1 batch a day ahead, pour it into ice cube trays, and freeze them overnight. When you use this type of ice, your drink will never lost its taste 🙂
