Now that we are counting down to Christmas, it’s a perfect time to introduce all of you to Miette – if you haven’t yet already known about it. Once you visit Miette, just like me, you will then truly understand the phrase, “like a kid in a candy store.”
Miette, which is a french word for ‘crumb,’ is my escape to French patisseries right here in San Francisco. The owner herself, Meg Ray, traveled the world and, lucky for us, started the store in 2001 inspired by Parisian way of exquisite pastries and wonderful presentation. So when you step inside any Miette location, you would feel as if you have been transformed into the most romantic city on earth filled only with happiness and sweet.
For all the bakers out there, Miette has its oh-so-cute 6-inch cake as a signature; it’s just big enough to serve a small party and can be used as a fantastic centrepiece. I like the old-fashioned cake (the first 2 cake photos on this post) the most, but this is just one variation though. There are many cakes/cupcakes to choose from at Miette; one is destined to be your favourite, and in my case, all are. FYI, you can buy 6-inch pan from the website as well as any Miette location.
There are many reasons to love Miette. I love the store for such a dreamy decor, tons of wonderful candies, beautiful cakes, delicious macarons & tarts, and fantastic staff. I love how Miette pays such a close attention to every detail; it seems that everything about Miette acquires only love and care. Most importantly, I love that Miette stores are in my city – a 10-minute drive to Paris, who wouldn’t want that? Anyway, if you don’t live here, you can also ‘taste’ Miette through the cookbook with the same name. I have had the cookbook ever since it came out, and whenever I made something from it, it came out perfectly every single time. In my opinion, this cookbook is the most comprehensive cookbook I have ever seen/own. It may hold you until you make a trip to the store, I hope 🙂
Christmas is just around the corner, and Miette has everything you’ll ever need for your holiday season. I hope you will fall in love with this store just like I did. Hope, you enjoy the post. 🙂
Note: This is NOT a paid-advertising post. The purpose of this post is just to show all of you one of my favourite places in San Francisco.
