I have always loved poetry, and have always had a huge admiration for poets. When I was young living in Thailand, my favorite poet was, of course, Thai; his name is Sunthorn Phu (สุนทรภู่). Then I discovered my favorite movie, Dead Poets Society; as a result, I also discovered T.S. Eliot, Walt Whitman, Alfred Lord Tennyson, Robert Frost, and of course William Shakespeare. Later on in life, I was also totally smitten with ‘Love’s Philosophy’ by Percy Shelley.
Not that I eat cheese & drink wine all day, nor that I only talk to like-minded people at the cafe in Paris; snootiness is not in my DNA. Though something about classic poems confirm that love and life are not at all about booty, reality TV and politic. There are beauties in the world— as there once were.
And while I can’t completely block all the ugliness from my life, poetry has taught me to pay most attention to what I consider beautiful instead. Poetry may not be your thing, so tell me, what do you find beautiful? Mine are loved ones, good friends, jazz music, dutch paintings, devoted artists in all extent, poetry, and of course, food photography, i.e. these passion fruit & blueberry champagne cocktail photos. 😛
For the sake of being a food blog, I am going to give you a ‘recipe’ as well. This ‘cocktail’ can NOT be easier. I just muddle fresh blueberry and passion fruit together, add Prosecco or Champagne, and voila, I get a refreshing champagne cocktail in a flash.
As you might already knew from the last post, I’m in the process of shooting beverage to add to my portfolio. If you have a second, I would really love to know, out of these 4 photos, which one you like most. Your take is always appreciated.
P.S. You can pin these drinks without the number from here.
For now, I am going to end this post with my amateurish poem. Until next time, have a wonderful Fall.
